Deskstar 6.4= master and 8.4= slave. Do you think 2gig margin is enough?

That's a good question. Ideally the margin would be more.

I would start with a small 300 MB+/- partition on the primary drive for the OS and Partition Magic. I would clone this to the KOT drive for a working base installation. I would then resize the primary partition to about 600 MB and add operations software..browsers and trading software..configure the ISP connections and then clone again. You will need to *hide* the first clone.

Next you can resize to about 2 Gb or add a second partition to the primary drive. This would be for non-operations types of software.

With a 2GB primary drive you would have room for a 300 MB, 600 MB, and several 2GB backups. You need room for a minimum of two 2GB backups as you always want to keep a minimum of one working backup at all times.

The final setup may be..a 2GB primary partition and a 4GB secondary partition on the primary drive. The 2GB partition would be considered the operations partition and would be cloned to the KOT drive ( room for three 2GB clones plus the 300 MB clone and the 600 MB clone)

The above can vary widely depending on ones personal preference.

Please consider the bios boot selection / KOT experimental. Note Howard's experience.
