Frankly, I think the analysts herd is clueless... Remember what happened 3 months ago: consensus estimates were 2 cents earnings/share ie about $550,000 for Q2 1998... Does it look like a ''guidance'' to you??? It certainly does not for me! The actual earnings were $1,032,000 ie about twice the analysts' guesstimates!

Anyway, the sell-off is widespread today so, I don't think we should overanalyze what's going on with any particular stock... Tomorrow's or next week's rebound (if any) will be much more predictive for 98Q3 results.

Besides, I don't think at all that ODIS's gonna be impacted by all this global financial turmoil: that crazy gobbledygook might be true for the banks (Russian loans, Asian flu, Latam) or the civil engineering outfits (ABB, real estate builders,...) but not for a company like ODIS! Why companies such as DELL Computer or British Telecom dared to write a $multi-million check to Object Design? Because they are far-sighted global firms! They just look beyond the 20th century and they're looking for the right tools that'll keep them ahead in 5 years from now! They won't skip the next technological (object-oriented) stage because of the Asian flu!!
