Tim ...

I did not want you to defend yourself, nor do I hold you responsible for anything you recommend. However, I am confused and was only asking that you explain. Sorry to send you off on a tirade. I for one appreciate the guidance.

What I do not understand, and even with the tirade am still unsure about, is what exactly is a position trade and what is not. You said you are exiting your position trades, but yesterday I thought you were long DELL, MER, CIEN and XYLN. Obviously, I misunderstood ... does this mean you are holding them or were these position trades. And what is the difference between a position trade and a hold.

Thanks for the explanation. And please do not be so defensive. There is no reason for you to hold yourself to blame. I am not aware of you forcing anyone to buy any of these stocks. For the record, the only stocks that you "recommended" (and I use that term lightly for fear of getting my head blown off) that I bought were CIEN and XYLN. I still have no positions in Dell or MER, but may buy a few shares of Dell in the next day or two if it keeps tracking down.

Amen.

Tim, I will support you(and your right to opinion) until the point you go underground again. I'm not on your PM list, and don't take kindly to being bothered, so I try not to bother.

I have enjoyed your thread(though sometimes the amount of "new messages" is too overwhelming to read) and think it would be a shame if you reverted to silence again.

If people act blindly, they get what they deserve and should accept that. It's shitty when we state our opinions and some one takes it for gospel. Or worse yet, fires off(in public or private) foul posts.

Bottom line kids, if you can't maintain an adult attitude in the heat of the fire, get the hell out. I'm not having fun today, but that's my own problem. Everyone has theirs, don't try to make yours theirs.

Tim,

You know you dont have to defend yourself....

THIS thread is one of the best and mellowest on SI. I have it bookmarked, read it daily, and consider stock selections from the information garnered. I especially enjoy the tech discussion since it isnt my forte.

Please keep the thread intact.

Tim - Let's face it - People will gravitate toward others with knowledge and experience. Actually it's a compliment.. and I am sure the WSJ article and your thread have added to a "guru" status.
But enough of that, I'm trying save my ass in a few positions right now!
