Minute, Anytime, Anywhere

'This is the Next Step in the Evolution of National Pricing Pioneered by
Sprint PCS'

New Plans Eliminate Long Distance Charges and Offer More Bundled

PCS Network

Sprint PCS Continues Rapid Market Launch Schedule

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Sprint PCS(R) today introduced new all-inclusive
Nationwide Service Plans that offer a single rate, anytime, anywhere on the extensive all-digital
Sprint PCS nationwide wireless network. The new service plans offer customers long distance
calling at no additional charge and offer more included minutes that can be used anywhere on the
Sprint PCS network. Sprint PCS is the nation's largest, 100-percent digital, 100- percent PCS
nationwide wireless network serving more than 160 metropolitan markets including more than 4,000
cities and communities across the country.

''A minute is a minute no matter where customers call to or from on our nationwide network,'' said
Andrew Sukawaty, Sprint PCS chief executive officer. ''As our all-digital nationwide network
continues its rapid expansion this announcement marks the next step in the evolution of national
pricing pioneered by Sprint PCS.''

Sprint PCS introduced the following Nationwide Service Plans effective today:

$69.99 per month for 600 included minutes - additional minutes are 25 cents per minute
$99.99 per month for 1,000 included minutes - additional minutes are 25 cents per minute
$149.99 per month for 1,500 included minutes - additional minutes are 25 cents per minute

''Our all-inclusive national plans give customers access to all the features, benefits, coverage and
value of our extensive national network at their home airtime rates anytime and include long distance
calling at no additional charge,'' Sukawaty said. ''It's no wonder our customers are beginning to use
their Sprint PCS phones as their one and only communications tool every day.''

Sprint PCS Nationwide Service Plans include the following features at no additional charge:

Customers pay only their home rates for all calls made or received in any metropolitan
market in the Sprint PCS nationwide network -- now offering service in more than 160
metropolitan markets including more than 4,000 cities and communities across the country.
Pay no long distance charges on calls to anywhere in the United States made from any Sprint
PCS metropolitan market (long distance charges apply on roaming calls made off the Sprint
PCS network).
Caller ID, Call Waiting, Sprint PCS Voicemail, the first incoming minute is free.
With Sprint PCS service there's no activation fee, no hidden charges and there's no annual
contract required no matter which Sprint PCS phone you purchase.

Sprint PCS also announced that the included minutes on all standard consumer service plans the
company is currently offering to new customers are now good anywhere on the Sprint PCS
network at no additional charge. This change makes Sprint PCS Home Rate USA a standard
feature on all Sprint PCS rate plans for new customers.

''Sprint PCS pioneered customer friendly innovations such as bundled features and no required
annual contracts,'' Sukawaty said. ''Sprint PCS built the country's first and largest all-digital,
nationwide PCS network. In fact, more than a year ago, Sprint PCS launched the industry's first
nationwide pricing plans. We've been a leader in the industry's move to a new model, giving
customers real value.''

Sukawaty added that Sprint PCS is continuing its rapid network building activities, expanding
coverage in existing markets and launching service in a number of major metropolitan markets. ''In
addition to our own launches, we've signed 10 affiliation agreements to date representing licensed
PCS coverage of more than 24 million people in 16 states,'' he said.

Sprint PCS recently launched service in Danbury and Stamford, Connecticut; and Gainesville,
Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Tampa and St. Petersburg, Florida; continuing the company's rapid
network expansion. Sprint PCS service is expected to launch in the following markets by the end of
1998 or early 1999: Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura, California; Colorado Springs and Fort
Collins, Colorado; Daytona Beach, Orlando, Florida; Atlanta, Georgia; Chicago, Illinois; Las
Vegas, Nevada; Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; Cincinnati, Cleveland
