I don't see it that way...

Going from 80% to 75% satisfaction is not what I would consider a "downtrend"....a more significant point is the continued high customer loyalty (the highest, in fact)....combine that with a rapidly growing base (over the last few years), and this shows solid fundamentals to continue rapid growth...

As for Compaq, I think it is unrealistic if folks on the thread think Dell will crush Compaq...in fact, my argument is that this is not at all necessary for Dell to continue hypergrowth (for the forseeable future)..Rudedog has made some eloquent points on this, but let's just say that Compaq and Dell are the gorillas here and everyone else will be waiting until nightfall to get their food....let me speak less cryptically....there are enough "weaker players" in the industry (and getting weaker all the time) for Dell (and Compaq) to grow computer sales at a fast rate...Compaq is winning in some sub-segments, Dell in others.....The important thing is that Dell continuing to win in the segments (it needs to) to (hyper)grow...

Now, if, in the next survey, Dell is at 65-60%, Compaq at 75%, Gateway at 60% and (moderate or significant) improvements by IBM and HP too, then, we should have concerns.....
