A recently published study suggests the importance of blood glucose testing in type 2 diabetics who are attempting to keep their blood glucose levels within normal limits. While patients in the intensive blood-glucose control group in this large study were at a reduced risk for reaching any diabetes-related endpoint, the intensive treatment group was at increased risk for hypoglycemia.
