Why do you think Bezos sold those junk bonds? It is because he cannot float the secondary offering without collapsing the stock, IMO. I seriously doubt any investment banks would line up to take in more of AMZN shares. After all, even those junk bonds had to be heavily discounted before anyone got interested.
