Dogged One....you might want to read up a bit over on M. Burke's thread before flushing some hard earned $ down the tube on financial stocks. The bulls were screaming Buy! when CCI was 182!

The US$ is at a major support line. When(not if) it breaks through 95 on the dollar index, foreign holders of US treasuries will be selling for all they are worth. You ain't seen nothing yet on the derivatives deal. Greenspan was lying his ass off in front of Congress last week while he was bailing out LTCM!

Completely unsubstantiated rumor:
Big Dog, thought you might have some thoughts about this. I was at church yesterday (believe it or not) and was talking to two of my friends in the oil bidness. I was telling the one works at EVI-Weatherford that it looked like it may be time to get back into these stocks again soon. He got all animated and said, "NO!, don't, it's going to get worse before it gets better. Just wait. I would wait." Now this guy tends to be a little brash and talks before he thinks. He was pessimistic to say the least, but he was also incredibly optimistic 4 to 5 mths ago saying it was a great time to buy (when actually it would have been a great time to sell). My friend at Freide Goldman was standing right next to him while he was saying all this and looked perturbed at his EVI friend.

But I'm wondering, with this much pessimism at these companies maybe the end is behind us. After all, things do look the worst just before the dawn right?
