My understanding is that the House will vote to open an impeachment inquiry. It will be open ended, able to delve in anything. Now this will come before the election. The inquiry itself starts after the election could take until next spring or summer.
Now the Republicans control the House 228 to 206. A swing of 12 seats put the Democrats back in the majority. I don't know that anyone actually expects this to happen but I'm seeing some moderate Republicans start to lose their taste for impeachment as they talk to constituents. We can only hope. Vote your local democrat.

If this thing goes forward it could make Barnum and Bailey look like a lone street mime. After the circus, the republicans will have the votes to impeach on a party line vote and that forces a trial in the senate.

This is bad for the country. It is probably bad for the economy and it further lowers the level and tone of our political dialogue. The last chance to stop this comes on November 3. We shall see.
John

Oh geez. A bait and tackle shop. Am I the only one longing for the sophistication of Tom Clancy political thriller? Couldnt these dealings happen in Air Force One, or on the ceiling of the Space Needle, or in a dang Nordstroms dept store for gods sake!!

LOL--Hey, what did you expect? A spooky, dimly lit parking garage? It's Arkansas, for chrissake! And we're talking Monicagate, not Watergate. Just be grateful they didn't make the deal inside the bathroom stall of a Texaco station.
