Sdr -

<<get the design win sell lots of chips then worry about PSC1000 inside - Intel didn't begin" INTEL inside " until a couple of or so ago - many years after they became dominate in the PC market>>

If Patriot accomplishes the first part--gets the design wins--we all should make some money on this stock.

If in a few years they have extra money, big egos, and idiotic marcom people that want to waste that money on a boneheaded idea like trying to brand their chip to the masses... Well I'll be long gone by then. Look at how Motorola is promoting M*CORE, TI their DSP products, and ARM their processor cores. It's all about talking to 5,000 to 10,000 engineers, finding the right market segments and applications.

Intel's genius was that the made the box manufacturers--Dell, Gateway, Compaq, et al--dependent on the marketing co-op money. You stick my "Intel Inside" logo on your ad (and put my chip in your box), I pick up 50% of the cost of your media placements. It adds up to serious money. Even more important was that Intel didn't have any competition for a few years--AMD and Natl Semi were undependable followers without compelling product roadmaps. Who else were the box makers going get processors from? (AMD is starting to pose a threat Intel's margins.) So you could make the argument that Intel gave too much away with the "Intel Inside" campaign.
