From the Associated press: Monica talked of writing check to Mrs. Tripp 8.13 p.m. ET (014 GMT) October 1, 1998 By Pete Yost, Associated Press WASHINGTON (AP) — In a Jan. 13 conversation with Linda Tripp taped by the FBI, Monica Lewinsky said she was being urged to be untruthful in the Paula Jones sexual harassment and told Mrs. Tripp, "I would write you a check'' if she did likewise. ''Telling the truth could get you in trouble. I don't know why you would want to do that,'' Ms. Lewinsky told Mrs. Tripp in one part of the conversation taped by the FBI. Ms. Lewinsky is quoted on the tape as saying she was told by others that regarding her relationship with Clinton ''as long as you say it didn't happen, it didn't happen.'' In another part of the conversation captured by the FBI wire, Ms. Lewinsky said other people had told her that in regard to an affair with President Clinton, "It doesn't matter what anybody says; you just deny it.'' Liberal Organization Releases Their Adjusted "Tolerance Standards" SAN FRANCISCO, CA - The liberal organization known as Americans with Open Minds and Bleeding Hearts (AOMBH) held a press conference this afternoon announcing the release of their newly revised "Tolerane Standards". AOMBH spokeswoman, Butterfly Moonshine announced that liberals are "no longer going to tolerate any persons or organizations that are intolerant of other people." Reporters in the media pool seemed confused by the announcement and one journalist from the IP asked Miss Moonshine, "If you're not going to tolerate people who are intolerant, doesn't that make you intolerant?" Miss Moonshine appeared baffled by the question. The reporter then continued, "Therefore, according to your own "tolerance standard", liberals can no longer tolerate themselves, right?" Miss Moonshine then became angry and blurted out, "I am not going to tolerate that kind of mean-spirited questioning" Realizing what she had just said, she blushed with embarrassment then abruptly ended the conference and stormed off in a huff.
