I read 'The Visual Investor' by John J. Murphy. I found it easy to follow and well written. I also bought Martin Pring's 'Introduction to Technical Analysis' and it comes with a CD Tutorial that shows examples and gives you quizzes. In my opinion they are both worth the money. Both have a short section on Candlesticks, but are not very complete in that they don't cover very many patterns. (Pring's book has the most on them.)

If you look back in files here, I and others have put book lists. Yes candles are TA. For a candlestick book, I recommend Beyond Candlesticks by Nisson. I think of sticks as confirmers and good visuals, rarely decision makers.

Can anyone recommend a solid book on Technical analysis and candlestick analysis

MileHigh,
There is a book called "Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques" by Steve Nison that I have read in the past. When I purchased the book, I was told that it was one of the best on the subject.
