In yesterday's Congressional hearings of the LTCM, the rep from Vermont, can't remember his name but he is an independent, had discussed a statistic that 225 people own 47% of the worlds wealth. He asked Greenspan if this statistic concerned him. Greenspan said it did not. Greenspan said this has been the case throughout history, and the average American is doing better than he ever has. This comment made me feel that we should shutup and not be concerned about the disaprity of wealth.
