It is two years away."* Not only is Merced two years away, it probably will never see commercial use. This was discussed several months back. The follow-on to Merced (can't remember the name) is touted as the first commercial 64 bit Intel chip. I would guess the follow-on is at least 3 years out and probably more when you start adding in Intel's usual delays. Robin
