Please don't take offense. I for one don't know a heck of a lot and that's why I sometimes post an unknowledgeable opinion. Some of us try to use SI as a learning vehicle, not as a bully pulpit. I admit the post in question was probably a little goofy. I'm certain that anyone who has read very many of my posts would recognize that my stock trading knowledge is at about the 10th percentile.

Now if you want to talk about the law, I'm much more of a legitimate know it all and a lot less goofy;-)

Now, to your substantive point: arbs make up a lot of the short position. How much of the trading in this stock is made up of the bulls who hold these short positions? Do these short positions have the same effect on the stock price as pure short positions? What use can be made of this knowledge?

TIA for any helpful info
