(edited) >>a large amount of fireworks was set off by BP/Arco personnel<<

They were celebrating the opening of the Badami field. I was driving east and saw most of it -- quite a pretty show.

P.S. It was the BP building. Arco is in the big gold tower downtown. At work I park in what used to be the Arco lot back when they had a larger staff here.

arctic warrior,

The building was the BP building, the ARCO building is downtown near Nordstrom's. I heard it from the Calais building on C street, it was so loud. I heard somewhere the occasion was the Annual BP United Way Charity Launch. The rumor about large wells is a good one; but I think there would have been a press release about it as Alaska needs some good news about oil.

Regards,

Paul.
