Speaking of gambling.
I think that you have miss-understood options.

Options is design for protection, some people used it as gambling.

Cover-calls associate with puts, covered-puts associated with calls.
Basically, you can achieve the minimum possible risk.

Buying and holding stock and bet that the company and stock will grow.
Some people call it investment, but in other words, can be either short-term or long-term gambling.

Anything involved with risks should be considered as gamble. Some stocks have higher risk, some have lower risks. But you could not dispute with the fact that stocks used to have higher risk than other investments.

By the way, most of the people who bought TAVA was betting that it will make a good deal of money. It has been proven a bad investment now. It takes me about one year for a 300% gain. The decision for me to take profit and pull out is based on the bad loan from SIR and disappointed earnings. I should thank Pink/Bill for finding those out.

People all make mistakes, but you should not attack people for investing on good stories.
