just a curious thought? apart from the fact that the market stinks right now, is it possible there may be some sort of informal arbitrage going on right now? As LU keeps getting wacked, so is ASND.

REgards.

See my above post regarding COMS.

ASND is the best bet because they have the best array of multi-service products for high end carriers and ISP's. Best of all they are time tested unlike ASND's competitors. Reliability is EXTREMELY important to carriers and ASND has the longest track record with the best reliability.

NN's MainStreetExpress 3619??? high end ATM switch is very good. But NN's product assortment is limited plus they dont have software like IP Navigator to link all the boxes into one platform. This is VERY important in supporting a network and is the most overlooked by junky analysts.

If you want nuts and bolts hands on experience answers, P.M. Bucky89, he is in the biz and is very helpful.

Last night I couldn't sit still with the impending market situation so I started snooping. I found a number of boards meant to discuss support issues & boy were these guys revealing. On the asnd support board, I latched onto a discussion by technical managers and administrators who install use & live by asend and other comms gear. Most technical folk basically thought the notion of a lu/3com merger was a joke, in fact, the board was talking about the implications of an lu/asnd deal. Another point lots of techies brought up was the fact that lu has been peddling the ascend product for about 2 years---the coversation mentioned a lucent sales rep pushing the ascend product over the livingston stuff & he was puzzled.. .Any thoughts on this kind of behavior? Does anybody out there know if in fact lu has been selling asnd gear??? Inquiring minds would like to know...
