Kinesix Corporation and Concurrent Computer Corporation Announce Reseller Partnership for Real-Time, Graphical Networked Systems

Real-Time Leader Concurrent Expands Its Applications to Embedded Systems

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Houston, Texas, October 1, 1998 - Kinesix Corporation and Concurrent Computer Corporation (NASDAQ:CCUR) today announced a reseller partnership providing for joint marketing of Sammi, Kinesix' software product for creating graphical, networked software systems. Adding the Sammi graphical software to Concurrent's PowerWorks development environment will enable customers to develop hard real-time applications that can be controlled and monitored in a distributed networked environment. Sammi also provides for this graphical environment to be transported over the Internet.

Concurrent's real-time operating system, PowerMAX OS, is the cornerstone of the PowerWorks development environment. Concurrent's PowerWorks development environment features PowerMAX OS, a field-proven UNIX based software technology designed for applications that require fast and deterministic real-time response. The PowerWorks integrated development environment also offers a suite of unique real-time productivity tools that assist the developer in creating complex real-time applications interfaced to Sammi.

Sammi's non-programmatic interface development, cross-platform capabilities, and built-in networking combine rapid graphical user interface (GUI) development with the high-performance of PowerMAX OS. For applications requiring dynamic, real-time data display in a Web browser, Sammi provides a Java solution in its "Sampplets" technology. Sampplets are Java applets that present dynamic graphical representations of data obtained from on-line, real-time process servers in any Java enabled browser.

"The integration of these technologies facilitates market-leading solutions for real-time applications."

"We believe that Sammi's Internet capability will be of significant benefit to Concurrent's embedded real-time users. It provides the flexibility of a GUI interface for monitoring and control from any remote location via either an internal intranet or the worldwide Internet," said Dale Burton, Vice President, Software, Concurrent Computer Corporation.
