MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. and CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- First Union FTU has selected VeriSign, Inc. VRSN as its primary provider of an integrated PKI platform which includes private root and certificate management services. Utilizing VeriSign OnSite(SM) 4.0, First Union will issue digital certificates under it own brand name, as well as co-branded server certificates. VeriSign will manage key generation and storage, and certificate life cycles.
First Union, through its certificate authority, is building the infrastructure to provide comprehensive certificate authority services for Internal security and customer authentication and authorization.
