News: Noted Restaurateur Named V.P. of Product and Business
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- American Kiosk Corporation (OTC-Bulletin Board: AKIS) has appointed Ronald L. McDonald as vice president of product and business development. An accomplished restaurateur, noted innovator, and recognized industry expert in his own right, McDonald's family founded the McDonald's fast-food hamburger chain some 50 years ago. They are also recognized as the motivating force of the nation's restaurant franchise industry. His initial responsibilities will include the development of new products for American Kiosk, including Pizza Place, the company's new drive-thru franchise and cart system that serves a fresh-baked, brickoven style pizza in just 2.5 minutes. "Ronald's depth of experience, understanding of the food service industry, and tradition of excellence will create a strong vision for American Kiosk's growth," said Richard Michael, president of American Kiosk. "We are fortunate to have him on our team, and we look forward to growing the company with the expertise of this outstanding seasoned professional." McDonald, of Tampa, Florida, has owned and operated a number of restaurant operations and chains. He also designed, built and operated America's first disco in Miami, Florida in 1967. McDonald was previously part owner of one of the largest food and vegetable wholesalers in the United Kingdom, serving more than 50 countries. He has most recently served as a consultant to the restaurant industry, and has appeared as a regular guest on The Food Channel and on Sony's network of 1,200 radio stations. "American Kiosk presents one the most exciting innovations in the food industry in years," said McDonald, "and I am excited to join this fine management team in the introduction of a number of new food products. "Sale of quality prepared food that does not require food-prep experience is a concept previously available only to snack food operators," continued McDonald. "American Kiosk creates a powerful opportunity for operators in many food service segments, allowing them to offer quality, fresh-baked foods along with complete cost controls, consistent quality, and virtually no waste, shrinkage, or expensive training programs." McDonald is a noted author of food industry materials, including "The Complete Hamburger" (Birch Lane Press/Carol Publishing Group), which was well received by food professionals around the world. He recently completed two new books, "Ronald McDonald's McBarbecue Book" and "Ronald McDonald's Franchise Buyer's Guide", and will soon introduce "Ronald McDonald's McPizza Book" and "Shrimply Delicious." He recently authored a feature article published in the August issue of ICON Magazine, and is working on a children's educational television series.
