Hi Tippet; Yes I look at him, but don't get into the perma bear,
or perma bull thing too far if I can help it. My theory of LTCM doing the shorting is just an after the fact guess that it was likely
them. I have no way to verify that it was them. I just happened
to be looking at the futures when they went down , and being I've
watched them a lot happened to notice that it was peculuar,
( normally the index and futures adjust fairly fast, you may get a spike or something when the program trading curbs come on ) but
it's was like the futures went under water , and they just stayed
there, and, stayed there, and on very high volume.

It was two weeks or so later I hear of LTCM, and then the
picture formed that what I had seen would have taken someone
as large as them to generate that much imbalance and volume.
I don't write it in stone as being LTCM, but the shorting was
huge.
