>The Zacks consensus estimate of earnings per share for AMZN's 09/98 >quarter is $-0.57.

Does that include the Nationsbanc Montgomery estimates of $-0.73?

Don't forget to let everyone know that estimates WERE $-0.24 cents just a month ago, but they have been quietly doubled. This was done so Amazon wouldn't have to pre-announce an earnings warning, which would cut their stock in half.

It appears we'll have to wait until the 15th for the bad (well, good if you're short) news. Of course the press release will start out in bold letters saying "Amazon increases revenues 30% over previous 3rd quarter" and in tiny print at the bottom it will say "Losses widened dramatically due to increased costs and competition."

>> AMZN: AMAZON.COM INC is expected to report earnings for its fiscal quarter ending 09/98 on 10/15/98. The Zacks consensus estimate of earnings per share for AMZN's 09/98 quarter is $-0.57. <<

The 15th of October is one day before expiration. I thought OC said that AMZN reported the day after expiration.

Ahh, I forgot the #1 rule on this thread! Never rely on one word OC says! He's usually full of it.

If the consensus is now for a loss of 57 cents a share then it dropped 3 cents on that revision you posted the other day.
