well, the weekend is kicked off with amusing and not-so-amusing exerpts from the Tripp/Lewinsky tapes. ML: "He's teaching me how to avoid perjury". ML: "I think you can get into a lot of trouble by telling the truth". ML: "He said, 'I saw them' [ML's mother and aunt]. I asked him what did he think? He said he thought they were cute. I 'shut-up'!"

Media seems fascinated by this newest installment in the Lewinsky/Tripp miniseries. Actually I think its more that they are desperate to get the worst stuff out into the open as soon as possible, so that they can put the proper spin on it.

In one clip, Monica suggests to Linda Tripp (I don't know if she was joking or not) that she might "wear the blue Gap dress with the xx-redacted-xx stain on it" to some event. Weird, very weird. As a fictional story, it would be decidedly low-brow stuff. Not for the sophisticated. Sad. I would have expected something more from the POTUS. You know: he might at least have joined the 30,000 feet club whilst aboard Air Force One...with a Russian spy.
