>>And guess what, as someone invested in this country's longer term success, the results returned me some big market returns.

Boy, have you bought it, hook, line and sinker. There is no evidence that tax increases and more government spending, other than defense, have had any salutary effect on the stock market. Similarly, there is no evidence that recent "investments" in education spending have produced or will produce better results. In fact, the evidence shows that money is not and has not been the problem.

There is plenty of historical evidence that tax reductions do have a salutary effect on LT growth and the stock market - they also allow for more economic freedom. There is even more evidence that electing a Republican Congress which imposed spending restraint and a balanced budget against Clinton's intentions and against every fiber of the Dem Party soul has had a positively euphoric effect on the stock market. Clinton abandoned the Dems on that and welfare reform at Dick Morris's direction.

Ain't it amazing that Clinton's only achievements were attained by abandoning his base and agreeing with the Republicans?

The coming Rep landslide in November should help turn the market from the recent Clinton slide. The worst case scenario, a Dem victory, would have led to a market collapse.
