<<Isn't the K7 going to be X86 compatible ?? ... Is the Alpha also X86
compatible ... I don't think so. So how are they interchangeable ... Is only the "backplane" the common element in a K7 and Alpha system ??>>

I guess you haven't been briefed. Stick around for the uPF.

The bus is identical to the Alpha bus, and I understand that you will be able to upgrade a K7 board to Alpha CPU.

Of course you will have to run NT.

I don't know the details on how this will work.......wait till Oct and we will find out.
