Is it not in the Fed's best interest to keep gold down in order to keep the US$ as the real world secure value which in turn allows the US debt from being too big to handle?
Just an opinion from a long time gold bug.

Robert,
Of course it has any rationally thinking person in the world pissed off. And I assure you our Asian brethen are not letting this pass without substantial notice. This is hypocrisy at its worst.
I am sure you can read commentary 100 times better than mine on that over the weekend, but as to something I think I know maybe a lot about, I do not hesitate to speak my mind. Here what Robert says, but do not get angry, buy junior gold shares of your choice.
I CANNOT STRESS THIS MORE. All you gold afficionadoes. You are being given a George Bush - a silver spoon. Robert, be thankful they are squashing the price now because you can buy more and more BECAUSE- this is a pressure cooker. The more the gov says tit- there will be a tat, and that means big gold move and they are allowing you to buy cheap, before the herd gets in.
good night,
Bill

Robert,
Allow me, if you please, to alert SI folks to a most fun and interesting post on my Cafe by ole 49er about bank derivatives under his " Coffee's On " posting thread in the commentary section after Midas.
This is not a plug for my deal. Things could not be going better for the Cafe, but Ole 49er's post is worth a look. This one is very special and worth any gold interested afficionado's time. I am pleased as punch that it is up there.
Nice work - Ole 49er.
Bill
