William< In any event this stock is being accumulated by institutions, who now own virtually the entire float, and they do their own due-diligence.>
I agree. What makes it even better for the Elephants is that the little retailer is doing no due-diligence what so ever.
The point here is risk. Who in the hell would pay $110 for a stock that might see $147 again but with the likelihood of it returning to planet earth and that's $20?
This 'Thing' is not to be messed with. Its for speculators, day traders, addicts and masochistic followers.
I really shouldn't be so hard on myself.

Do you think Amazon is conning us? Jeff keeps downplaying the numbers. The Amazon
10Q reads like the package insert for nerve gas.

William,

I do not believe Amazon, the company, is connign us. I use to feel that Bezos and staff were just con artist. No more. I believe they believe in what they are doing. I know you were in marketing and if you could find out who writes the Amazon press releases, please le me know. I need to hire this person.

I still believe the Amazon stock price is a con. The cause of the price is not management. Look at the warnings as you stated. The warnings could not be more clear.

The question remains why is this company valued where it is? It is not based seriously on fundamentals or future potential. Read the risks in the 10Q. I know you have.

I do not have a complaint with Amazon. The problem I have had being short back at 40 have caused me to learn a lot. I have a lot more to learn but between you, Jan, Craig, Mark, James, Rob and many others., I am learning how to read the market in general better. I thank all of you on this board for your input.

I will be back with more questions<G>

Glenn

William, I had to go back and look @ this one.
< Amazon is a just another company to Morgan Stanley. It's a tiny company.>
I realize that the $25mil Junk fee that Bezos gave to your Morgan Stanley was a nit.
Just like the 500,000 shares Bezos gave to one of it's book suppliers was.
But the huge stock position that M&S took into its inventory (5%) of all outstanding shares. The big bucks that they made from the fleeing shorts and finally the huge amount they have collected from the expiring worthless puts, while charging huge premiums, makes the 'Thing' one of M&S most profitable clients this year. Being a controller can be very profitable, don't you think?. Unless you run into a LTCM.
Trust me on that.
