Anyone who would buy a Xeon for only a 5% improvement in integer performance would be foolish, I agree. However there's more to the story. If you need to run applications that require 2 geg of memory then only a slot2 processor will do that, and that means Xeon. Futhermore, an Xeon really shows it's advantage when doing transaction processing and that's measured in TpmC. The extra highspeed L2 really helps there. Don't buy one for your desktop Ali, buy 4 for you transaction server.
