HansVision is a profitable thing , I believe. But nobody seems to know how much it actually contributes. It is apparently selling well in China, and getting pirated there as well. I'm afraid Asia is still at that stage when the cost of offending/ripping off software writers pales in comparison to what that software can do for the greater (Asian) good. When the per-capita income rises, and it actually becomes important to maintain good relations with the Microsofts, Novells and Symantecs of the world then the Asian country would begin to enforce the (usually already present) laws forbidding piracy of intellectuall property.

Singapore is somewhere in between good and evil, but is getting better. The other countries are quite laissez-faire about it at the moment. So the software companies get paid largely by corporations who can't risk getting caught.

Things are improving. It takes time.
