According to a post on the ORCL thread, this is information has been
in the 10-Q verbatim for at least the last 3 reports. I didn't confirm
that, but I have seen it in previous 10-Q's (I just don't recall which
ones). If it has been in since January, ORCL has gained market share
on NT in that time, so it's more "here's something to worry about"
rather than "here's something bad that is actually happening now".

this is just a forward looking statement lifted from Oracle's 10Q.

price competition is out there thats why its 40% off its highs. As far as Informix taking away business from Oracle i would use any strength to sell Informix and Sybase - after seeing market leading high flyers get cut in half if not worse - i would avoid high volume losers with no chance of appreciation in the next 2 years - when money flows back into the market it will come back to Oracle/PSFT/SAP/SEBL there are much better companies with technically broken charts to invest in.
