This is a sort of "first here is the good news and now the bad news type of release". The technology is obviously good but several questions come to mind.

1. Can it make money?

2. Is the expensive technology or poor management responsible for the company's trouble?

3. What is going on with the Japanese contract?

OUCH!! Yet another example of a scientist with a great idea, but no business sense to commercialize it. Essentially, the management simply pissed away their (substantial) cash reserves with little or no concern about when the eventual revenues/profits would catch up. Too bad, really.
