Jack, I think its pretty unlikely INTC will attempt a move into the high end of carrier networking. If they had wanted to do this, it would have been done already. They have no reason to play "wait and see" with LU. They could buy ASND at any time, if they so desired.

I actually wrote on this thread about a year ago about the possibility of an INTC/ASND merger (when ASND was in the 20's). But it never happened, and probably never will...

Jack,

No one is buying anyone is this market. LU's pooling, when their stock price is 40% off their highs, does them no good. They will not use stock to purchase anyone right now. INTC might, but ASND is not a target. ALA, ERICY might but again too much uncertainty. ASND will be going it alone for the forseeable future. Speculative money is leaving which is why ASND is taking it on the chin. We should settle in the high 30's/low 40's and earnings should take us back to 45+ <crossing my fingers>.
