George, my two cents worth on the current state of the US Congress:

Last century, there was a civil war in America over a very important and fundamental human rights issue: slavery.

America went to fight an overseas war (WW2) to defend basic human rights (against Nazism).

The Vietnam war virtually reduced America to a "civil" war. The issues were important, but a lot less clearcut....

Today, members of the US Congress merrily go around sticking knives in each others necks, in a Congressional civil war, over what I must assume is something very dear to their hearts (political power, but using a sexual affair as a means or trigger point).

Is this progress, or what? Meanwhile, Rome burns while Congress fiddles (with the Starr documents)

RGds,
Steve Yeo
