Anyone know if they closed that Process Control deal with Emerson as well as the Communications Division to another company ? Of course that larger nuclear to the US/British company is later (I guess). Anyway I thought they estimated to close the smaller Process Control and Communication by the end of the 3rd qtr ? Also, read in a Post-Gazette that the Pittsburg WX Bldng is for sale. If so would the money go to CBS or Westinghouse ? Do you think all of the above deals closed would help the stock or is it already factored into the stock price ? Are there any advantages to closing the deals in the 4th qtr ?

Thanks

When "loss of sleep" over portfolio is a problem then one frequently makes inappropriate stock decisions. I have had that problem and have tossed good stocks like AA and PVT out the window along with the marginal performers. I believe a partial solution is to have some sort of hedge against extreme volatile markets. Puts are one way to do this and perhaps against the S&P (SPX) depending on portfolio size. Another hedge is mid/long range T-Bonds which generally go up in strong down markets. PS. your August 12 comments reflected a similar sentiment (loss of sleep) and which time you inquired about puts. (It may be too late in the cycle for CBS puts but may apply to other high flyers that have not fallen yet).
