The Hype behind REFR:

If you want a very good chance at being rich check out REFR.
I know the symbol does not inspire confidence but REFR has
over 100 patents and patents pending on SPD film which
enables a person to manually darken or lighten home or office
windows (SPD film has many other application such as
eyewear,rear-view mirrors, and in the future superior FPDs).
There is about 20 billion square feet produced every year and
1 trillion square feet of window in existence and never in the
history of the world has there been a feasible window that
enables the user to vary the tint from clear to dark. If REFR
can capture 5% of current home window market and receive
$1 in royalties per foot that means REFR should generate 1
billion dollars in revenue. Since there are only about 10 million
shares that will give each share near $100 in earnings. Give it a
PE of say 25 and you have a stock price of about $2,500
dollars. It's current price is $7 so $2,500 divided by $7 is a
357x's price increase. They will reach that price as soon as
SPD windows can capture 5% of the market (maybe four
years)and that does not include retro-fitting any of the existing
1 trillion feet (which could be as big or bigger). Before you say
I'm a flake the company's president Robert Saxe uncle
invented color film, his dad was a NY State Supreme Court
Justice and his first cousins are George and Ira Gershwin. He
has been working on SPD for 32 years. Before that Edwin
Land who invented the Poloroid camera was working on it.
Poloroid stock had an unbelievable price appreciation in its
day. SPD windows going to hit the market within months. By
all means check their web page out and due all the research
you want before investing a single penny. It is for real and
perhaps the greatest ground floor opportunity you may see in
the rest of your life. REFR symbol for Research Frontiers on
the NASDAQ check out their web page.

P.S. REFR was recently featured in the Wall Street Journal
and SPD windows may capture more than 5% of the window
market because wouldn't you want them instead of using
pre-historic venetian blinds? If you buy this stock and it realizes
its potential then Merry Christmas.

REFR Income sources paint a very sad picture.

<<The Company's fee income from licensing activities for the first six months of
1998 and 1997 was $50,000. During the first six months of 1998, the Company
also received $135,000 of key man life insurance proceeds payable on the death
of its former Executive Vice President, Robert I. Thompson. This resulted in the
Company recording non- recurring other income of $91,379 during the first six
months of 1998 representing the difference between the amount received by the
Company and the cash surrender value of such life insurance policy that was
previously recorded on the Company's balance sheet. >>
