SMART MONEY prognosis for Dell: In the Oct issue, SM quotes Robertson Stephens analyst Daniel Niles. He says he wouldn't be surprised, short term, if Dell hit $33. (HA! Dream on, Danny.) His theory: Dell will be hit hard by rising DRAM prices.
The rest of the article is much more favorable. While DRAM prices may put pressure on the stock in the near term, "over the long term this company is UNSTOPPABLE. Dell is the third-largest computer company in the country, with shipments growing four times faster than in the rest of the industry. Now it's looking to expand its server and notebook-computer lines -- two businesses that should push Dell's gross margins of roughly 21 to 22 percent even higher." YES! GO DELL!!
What are your thoughts on the DRAM issue?
