Tony: RE: Barrett at stockholders meeting, general impression.

Thanks. I am well aware of the "arrogant" label being attached to those who are the best in their field...whether it's deserved or not. I was hoping that you might respond. Thanks!

BTW I heard Craig Barrett speak only once, at an all Intel event. The audience always makes a difference.

OT Hate to see the Cubs and the Red Sox end their dreams so early. And that comes from a big-time Braves fan (we lived in Atlanta when my son was a little guy. I have fond memories of trips to the ballpark.... I just thought the Red Sox and Yankees would be a great matchup for a terrific season. And I remember the days when I was a kid and we watched the games at Fenway ;). Are you pulling for Houston or San Diego?

dmf, Barrett seemed anything but arrogant at the stockholders' meeting this year. That is the first time I saw him and heard him speak. There are certainly other contributors here who know him quite well. My opinion is don't worry about this "arrogant" thing. I got the impression that, after Andy, Craig is THE man.

I certainly liked Craig Barrett's statement about the Intel monopoly. He said, "If we're a monopoly, we're a crummy one." Pretty funny, down-to-earth kind of statement. By the way, I would never expect to hear this kind of statement from Bill Gates.
