No, I'm talking about transporting crude from the wells during production. Right now they're just doing a small pilot project. It's some kind of special pipe that has layers of metal and plastic. Ah, here's a link... anwr.org

The local paper had a piece about CT drilling here a couple of years ago.

p.s. Did they move that 20-story Arco Building? Last time I checked (Friday) it was on the opposite end of downtown from Nordstrom's. <g>

The oil companies developed CT because reduction in the North Field slopes is estimated to run out buy year 2001 - 2005 the production output has been decreasing for years. The CT is enabling taps for the smaller side pockets and can be used now to extract previous wells that had been capped due to high cost/output now it is economical thanks to this technology.
