Fuel cell power

A fuel cell is an electrochemical source that creates electricity silently and without
internal combustion. Hydrogen and oxygen are combined in a fuel cell to
produce electricity and heat with pure water as the only by-product. Theyíre
separated by an electrolyte membrane to prevent them from coming into direct
contact with each other. The various types of fuel cells can be identified by the
different electrolytes. These fuel cells are categorized as solid oxide, molten
carbonate, phosphoric acid, alkaline, and the Proton Exchange Membrane
(PEM), which is the automotive candidate.
