Ed, how many variables are there? Let us assume it is n. What is the possible range of each variable? Let us assume on the average, m. The number of experiments required to optimize the process is, in principle, n! times m!, not a small number, and not a number that simple "documentation will achieve. You must use statistical models and understanding of the importance of the various variable to narrow down the onion peeling process. What you are telling me, is that the onion peeling process is just starting.

Ed,

Once a projection is actualized, it can no longer be classified as "hype". It becomes projected reality!!!

Certainly, we appear far from actualization, and we (me) have suffered a loss of something that lots of us have had lots of for a long time.

Thomas Edison had vision, but not much genius. His success was almost entirely based on empiricism. He doggedly tried all possibilities until he found one that worked, then found another that worked better.

His contemporary, Mr. Tesla posessed true genius. He was however, a poor businessman and sold his patents to Westinghouse for a pittance and ultimately was unable to fund his research. His motivation was never profit, but persuit of his research. Enough about that, but Edison was certainly more effective than Tesla even though he had little genius!

Dogged determination with a little vision is what he had!!

A lesson for us?

Teslafan, Jack!!
