Elmer,

<This is like the K6 all over again.>

Good observations. I think the pattern goes something like this; AMD's future chips are always predicted (by Jerry's followers) to be far superior until they are actually released. Then, when everyone sees that they fall significantly short of what Intel has been selling for some time, the mantra suddenly turns to "who needs that much power anyway". Remember, according to AMD followers, no one ever needs a chip faster that what AMD can produce at any given time <ggg>.

Elmer - Re: " Albert was proudly proclaiming the K6 as a superior performer to the Pentium Pro, "

Krash and Maxwell are yelling the loudest - each trying to convince the others that "this time its different".

This time, AMD will have launched a BULLET instead of a Boomerang.

Maxwell's in a panic because Intel has made sure his employer has lost money and it may be his own fault - with the poor AMD yields in their MegaFlop 25 last year and early this year.

And ol' No-Data-Krash Johal - trying to design x86 processors to compete with Intel and having his company fail. He desperately wants Intel to be beaten by AMD - because he certainly couldn't beat them.
