No. Tons is in the purview of central banks only. Private banks do not and cannot commandeer those quantities of physical gold. Someone has extrapolated again to sell their media. It's like the option players walking around gloating over how many shares they control when they're winning. They don't even control themselves much more any shares. When you have an effective leverage of 1%, you think you manage 100 times the cash you have, but what you discover is that you can't move the lever!
