It's a bad time to be a lemming

Hey guys, (not you Dr. Harvey)

A bear market with declining trading volume over the next couple of years is no time to switch to a weaker broker, unless you want your money tied up for several months waiting for the SIPC to return it.

Just my two cents. BWDIK.

John

I am not quite sure how fair it is to judge JPR Capital based off of the size and number of employees of one of its branch offices, which is independently owned and operated. There are a few Terra Nova branch offices which only have 3 or 4 employees, but I don't view them any less reliable than the larger ones. I think that the stability of the broker/dealer is what really needs to be evaluated.

I can say one thing in their defense. A friend of mine held a position overnight, sold it the next morning, and then purchased it again the same day for an intraday day trade. Apparantly, if you hold a position overnight, sell it the next day and buy it back the same day, Southwest Securities issues a margin call (one of those quirky rules)....So he had a margin call for $22,000.00, which they covered for him. To me that is pretty good customer service... I have never traded with MB Trading, but I wonder if they would do the same thing for their clients?

But like I have said previously, I do think that they are begging for trouble by allowing their traders to short sell any stock...even if its not on the short list....

"physically walked into their empty Boca Raton office, saw three people working..."

i used to trade with waterhouse securities (i still keep 2 IRA accounts there). as i live in northern california, their nearest branch office is in sacramento. that office had 3 people in it. i think they've recently added more employees.

i wouldn't, however, place an awful lot of weight upon the number of employees in a branch office.

Mr. Harvey ---------------- reputation of humiliation.

I know who I am and I am comfortable with myself. I am not
here to establish credibility but to seek and share in a
learning atmosphere.

Mr. Harvey, you seem to have a troubled nature. You parade around as
someone you are not. You put on a charade of being a doctor of which
that is a LIE ! Your credibility?? hmmmmm

Since you bring up the word credibility, that must be really on your
mind regarding yourself here at SI.

Your condescending demeanor demonstrates you are not here at SI to share but to create the reputation as someone who humiliates others in an unfriendly way. You sound like you belong on the yahoo msg boards.

You call me a "child" and try to humiliate me. That shows how grown
up you are. Is this how you treat your wife, kids, grand kids and
friends? If not, you would develop a better credibility if you
showed the same respect here at silicon.
