CatLady,

Earlier this year I tried NS20S, but gave up after mediocre results.

The results you get are very much dependent on the input data that you supply.

From NS20S, would it be better to upgrade to NS40S or to NS20?

You have to ask yourself if you want the additional features of the commercial version, or are you satisfied with the program features you have. Upgrading to 40 neurons will enhance and fine tune your nets, and since you would be doubling your neuron capability, the difference will be quite noticeable. Because of the increase in neurons, training will slow and it will take more time to fully train your nets.

are the commercial features worth the substantial premium over the shareware versions?

I thought so, or I wouldn't have bought it, but then I wanted to be able see the last 10 days on the chart, to have the Max Profit trading strategy, and to be able to do automated batch training among other things.
