Jim,

>>>>>>>>>>> Saying TA is the end all... is like saying simple geometry describes the universe..sure it does, for someone living in the 12th century. <<<<<<<<<<<<

As you know, I am almost a pure technical analyst, but in many of my posts I always indicate that fundamentals can over-ride TA, depending on the severity. TA is a tool to determine probability - thats it.

I often hear analysis being made on one technical indicator, and recently theres alot of discussion advance/decline which I also use. Well, I can tell you that if a firm position is made on one indicator without substantial support from whereever - lets just say Ive been there, done that and got BURNT. I have recently heard that the TRIN is a good indicator, but it also has given wrong signals or less accurate signals. Frankly, with this market being so volitile anythin can happen and I assure all that the technical indicators are probably getting skewed one way or another.

Right now my indicators are getting increasinly bearish and the probability of breaking 7400 is increasing. Is that for sure - HECK NO!!!!!!!!!!!

It just amazes me that some can be so sure and enthusiatic with their position, although have noticed that some of that enthusiasm is being replaced by some reality on this thread - and it goes for both the BULLs and BEARs.

I still only have a small PUT spread, since Im not sure of anything myself. I may add to that position if I see more bearish signals.

There are definite weaknesses in technical analysis, as with fundamental analysis, and to assume it is concrete -THATS JUST FOOLISH.

I guess you don't agree with John Murphy then.
