Hi Clark:
have you come across any information as to how involved money centered banks etc are involved in their own derivative trading..notice that the recent disclosures just center around ltcm..nothing about their own trading accounts..(it sounds like some huge money is going to be made by seeing the cards and thus knowing how to play the hand at the expense of investors and savers..)

Amidst the raging discussion of global markets teetering on the brink ... I timidly interject with a question as to how derivatives could impact my own little world's economy. I have moved all of my 401K retirement money out of stocks and into a 'secure' investment plan with a guaranteed annual return of about 7%. My concern is that this plan is controlled by Aetna ... and I have heard that insurance companies are some of the largest players in the derivatives game. Is this true? If so ... could an investment plan such as the one I'm in be all that 'secure'?
