This is an excellent question. I wish I knew the answer

or what is the difference between the three companies?

I don't know why some of these threads are posted so infrequently

ASMLF has always been solid with leading-edge steppers, production-ready. SVG has been "in bed" with IBM and INTEL. It has had the latest, but not necessarily the greatest (in reliability, in high volume when needed). Ultratech has had a "trailing edge" niche market of low cost, but low tech steppers. ASMLF will be one of the key players in an upturn, while SVG and Ultratech just MIGHT be. It's place bet on a sure thing, versus bets on two long-shots.
