Dear Robert, DIVA did a bond offering that generated something on the order of $10 million in fees. So Merrill assigned some poor schnook to cover it in their high yield research department. The other analysts (?) you mention work for the suckers who bought the bonds. As Goodboy has noted, those buyers assumed the equity markets would stay "friendly" enough for diva to go public, and replace the debt with the money from another group of suckers. It doesn't look likely, especially given diva's less than impressive financials.

We have no coverage because the stock is below the price many firms use to determine whether to consider providing research, and we have paid no banker any fees, so they have no business reason to provide research. Perhaps management erred long ago and should have reverse split the shares so, for instance, the stock would now be $10, etc. That doesn't mean we won't see coverage at some point, but for right now we are on our own.
