As a measure of the predictive power of the ARMS index, Barron's in September or October of 1987 ran a piece on the extreme oversold readings on the TRIN flashing a buy signal.

However, it is worth watching during the day when extreme readings - over 2.00 - often indicate a short term turnaround.

This is a list of stocks I posted previously which
had not been beaten down as bad in the latest
market downdraft as they had been in
the October 1997 correction.

Watch List for 10/5

SVTG 6.625
HRL 28.312
NCR 28.750
RPC 19.750
VCELA 19.875

I am still holding WFMI in the
position account. Looks too
iffy to do anything else at this
point.
